About Discindo

Although Japan and Singapore lead Asia in Ultimate Frisbee development (with regular league play and aggressive community promotion) Jakarta has had a regular team since 1997 who have annually hosted the now World Famous Bali Nusantara Cup since 2000.

Called DISCINDO, the Jakarta Ultimate Frisbee team comprises both expatriate (70%) & Indonesian men and women who work in both the private and public sector and whose ages range from 16 to 53! In fact at last count the professions Discindo members had covered included lawyers, communications consultants, journalists, economist, bankers, stock analysts, social workers, PHD students, advertisers, television professionals, environment protectors, finance managers, president directors, teachers, embassy employees, gamelan players, etc. As Jakarta and the rest of Indonesia is still largely made up of a culturally homogenous population the Discindo team reveals a refreshing glimpse of a cooperative global tomorrow.
